This does not mean you have to register your boat though, as far as I know. Since your boat is only used for recreation, you only require to get the boat licensed in Canada (at Service Canada) and not registered - which requires a little more paperwork, bs, and money (although I think they've gotten rid of alot of the fees)
Correct. This is only a sail # assigned by CYA for participating in events such as Marblehead to Halifax. Licensing is a whole different issue with Canadian Border Services.
